- Background
- I grew up always curious about the ocean and what lies beneath the waves. That led me to take up fishing the waters off Hilton Head when I was young. I went on to study marine biology in college and moved to the Florida Keys working as a nature guide on the coral reefs surrounding Big Pine Key. It was an awesome experience and I got to do plenty of fishing down there but I decided to move back to Hilton head and focus on my local waters. I started fishing on The Straycat with capt. Jim Clark. I worked for him and most of the other captains on The North End Charter Fleet Dock at some point or another. For me fishing is an adventure and it is my passion to do what I can to give people that thrill.
- Techniques
- The Rainmaker is a center console The boat is very quick but also comfortable. I can accommodate up to 6 passengers however I encourage groups of 4 so everyone is more comfortable. Rainmaker Charters runs all year long which makes it a lot of fun because we get to target a lot of different species throughout the year. We do a lot of different things to target certain species that come through the waters. Certain times of year there is a lot of surface bites and other times we mainly bottom fish so we are always ready to adapt to how the bite is.
