- Background
- So I started fishing the gulf waters when I was just a child! We didn't have alot of money growing up but when we would go to the beach as a child my mom would always give me the option to either get a burger or bait! Needless to say I always chose to get the bait! That led me to start working on charter fishing boats in Pensacola Fl. then onto private boats for a few years. I stepped away from charter fishing for a few years and ran parasail boats but my love for fishing never stopped! I still fished every time I had the opportunity too. I found my way back to fishing full time almost 10 years ago and have never regretted or looked back! Currently I've been the captain of fishing charters that have set 4 Alabama state records and 1 world record! Although they may not be of the most common kind of fish, that are caught day in and day out, a record is still a record and I'm sure proud to have given someone who doesn't fish for a living the opportunity to put their name in the record books!
- Techniques
- My favorite kind of fishing is deep dropping! It's where you fish in water depths ranging from 300 to 1500ft deep using electric reels! Pretty much everything you catch is delicious and is always a surprise! My next favorite style of fishing would have to be high speed trolling for Wahoo's! Now that type of fishing is definitely not for everyone, mainly because it can be extremely slow and a whole lot of riding around, but when that reel starts screaming the adrenaline rushes in and its just crazy! I also love fishing for Mahi-Mahi! When you find them, the fun in the fight of light tackle fishing is just awesome.
