Captain Tom was great from the second I booked the trip. I booked this as a surprise for my husband’s birthday and he answered all of my questions and helped me keep it a surprise. Once the weather started looking dicey for the day we booked, Captain Tom called me to help figure out a game plan and reassured me that they would have their trip no matter what we had to do. Out on the water, my husband said he was reeling in fish before everyone else’s lines were in the water, so Captain Tom knows what he’s doing and is set on getting fish on your line. Overall, it was an incredible experience that felt personalized and special. If we book another trip, there’s no doubt that we will book with Captain Tom again!

Bought this trip for my fiance’s Big 40 who loves fishing. Due to the weather it changed to a day earlier, Captain Tom was extremely knowledgeable and professional, quick to figure out an alternative plan to ensure Joe had a safe and fulfilling trip. Joe said the boat was clean, bumpy but fun! Said Captain Tom “was awesome, knew his spots, great setup, boat was awesome, very flexible, choppy choppy but not a problem had a great time and I caught fish, great dinner.” He caught and released 13 fish, brought one home for dinner. Over a day later and Joe’s still raving about his favorite fishing trip.

My family of rookie fishermen felt right at home with captain Tom. He was very warm and welcoming, knew the waters and the hotspots. We started a mile off shore but the water was too choppy so we came back in, and still had a day of 50 catches (black bass, porgy, fluke). My 8 and 12 year olds are already asking when is our next trip! Highly recommend Captain Tom and Get the Net charters to anyone in Newport looking for an awesome experience!

We had a great time!  I chartered Captain Tom and brought my sister, mom, brother and mother in law out as a batchelorette party for my sis. (yes, non-conventional). Everyone caught a ton of fish. Captain Tom knows the waters extremely well. He knew by the tides exactly where the fish would be and they were there. Boat is very nice and clean. Poles and reels were nice and worked well.  Everyone had a great time. I would definately recommend Tom.

We had a blast fishing with Captain Tom on July 28! A big storm had passed through the previous night and the sea was angry that day, my friends, like an old man trying to return soup at a deli. But we prayed to the fish gods and trusted in Captain Tom, and sure enough he put us right on the fish every time. Tom knew right where to go and what kinds of bait would work best.  He was a lot of fun to fish with and we’d do it again in a second.

Seasickness, u ask? Hell yes, but we didn’t let a little nausea stop us.  We kept our sight on the land when we weren’t looking at our rod tips, and caught lots of Black Sea Bass and several Fluke (including a few keepers). In fact, I think we caught around 20 fish on our half-day trip, give or take! 

Definitely an adventure worth every penny. 5 stars, highly recommend, 10/10 would do it again.  Thanks for an incredible day! 🐟
