I have fished with many charter captains.  None have worked harder than Capt.Mike to find fish and put them in the boat. He is also enjoyable to spend the day with.

Mike was a great captain.  You can tell he is passionate about fishing and really knows the water.  He has a nice boat, solid gear and he works hard to put you on the bite.  We are new to salmon fishing but he was patient with our questions about his setup and the local area.  I highly recommend him.

We took a trip to Ontario to fish for coldwater species with Captain Mikey after several successful trips with him on the Hudson river. Our goal was to try to learn some things about fishing deep water trout and salmon. In just 8 hours (really more like 10 since we just kept fishing and he wasn’t paying attention to the clock) we learned more about rigging, boat speed, techniques specific to each species Ontario holds then we could have in a year reading a book. From the time the sun came up to it was time to return to the dock he didn’t stop. We had constant action. When things slowed down, Mikey changed his approach and again we would hook up. We ended the day with a beautiful box full of fresh salmon. We caught several atlantics and a steelhead and they were put back to protect the resource. Most captains would have thrown them in the box.

Hands down, Mikey is a skilled captain, a phenomenal fisherman, great educator and a all around funny guy who makes the day on a boat go by in the blink of an eye. Our arms were tired and brains full to capacity. We have another trip planned for 2018 to further hone our skills in hopes that we could one day do it ourselves like Captain Mikey showed us.
