Despite the weeks of rain and all the dirty water the redfish are still biting on the low incoming tide. We are finally seeing some cleaner water starting to replace the brown rain water but theres a BIG storm approaching Fl. That will dump more rain. As far as the mullet run, theres some pretty good schools but not as good as the last few weeks. Tip of the day. Live finger mullet but clip the tail to make it bleed for scent while the water is dirty.

Both the red fish and mangroves have done really well in August. Mullet has been thick. Catching live finger mullet and chunking them up has offered the best results.

As the large schools of mullet work up and down the intracoastal waters you can watch the feeding show of Jack Crevalle, Blue Fish, and tarpon busting through the schools sometimes coming completely out of the water. It's magnificent to say the least. It's my favorite time of year to be on the water. Lots of fish to be caught and memories to make.

The mullet are everywhere and the fish are following. The tarpon are easy to spot but hard to hook. Jacks are plentiful and redfish are chewing. This past week has been great. Looks like this should continue but who know for how long.

I believe the fresh live fingee mullet make the difference on landing some good eating fish. Water temp wasnt as cold as the other day when the tide came in. We had several undersized fish as well.
