Captain Jerry was great!, friendly and knowable.. Tylor was awesome!!! Hi knowledge of Archeology of the big island and the sights to see while on the island made for a great time after the charter was finished! All in all was a great fishing trip, we caught some large MahiMahi and some nice jack tuna as well I highly recommend their charter! My family of four had the pleasure of chartering Captain Jerry’s boat June 18th. Captain Jerry and deckhand Tyler were very knowledgeable and friendly. Communication was great throughout the booking and the day of the charter. My teenage boys were so excited for the trip, unfortunately the waters were less than ideal, a bit choppy, and pretty rainy (although it’s expected in Hilo). David I am sorry you ended up getting motion sickness, the ocean is not very forgiving! We do our best to advise on conditions, but everyone is different. We did hook up two nice fish, but they did end up throwing tge hook. Its how fishing is sometimes! We enjoyed your family and appreciate you going out with us. First and foremost Captain Jerry is focused on safety and a good fishing experience. I’ve been on many charters and there comes a time when fishing is difficult. In these situations there are those captains and mates that will grind it out and still catch fish using a multitude of techniques.That’s the DNA of Captain Jerry and first mate Tyler. We caught a some great Mahi Mahi and a nice Wahoo. If you are on the Big Island and want to fish we recommend Malama charters for you and your family.

I can’t give Jerry and Tyler high enough ratings. These guys were great, even the two of our party who got sea sick enjoyed the trip from the floor. They are very knowledgeable and accommodating. If I’m ever back to hawaii, I would not fish with anyone else, amazing day. We feel like we left the dock with two new friends.

Captain Jerry was very nice and knowledgeable. The boat was very clean and his deck hand Tyler helped with anything we needed when it came to using equipment and baiting hooks. We caught mahi and tuna. Overall it was an amazing fishing trip and we look forward to fishing with Jerry again.
