Background: I started fishing as soon as I could walk, exploring the Florida Everglades, Ten Thousand Islands, and Florida Keys in 1975. Since moving to the East Coast in 1993, I have been avidly fishing the Atlantic Ocean and its estuaries every chance I get. The Chesapeake Bay provides amazing opportunities for saltwater fishing enthusiasts like me!
Techniques: My primary interest is light tackle sport fishing. I enjoy making custom tackle targeted for specific species. The hunt for larger fish with sight-fishing is a favorite, but I also enjoy trolling and bottom fishing. My most rewarding fishing comes when I can help another angler learn new techniques and find great fish.

The day fishing with Captain Mike or as I like to call him Captain Cobia aka The Cobia Whisperer couldn’t have been any better. You’ll be using top shelf fishing gear and you’re going to need it because he puts you on the fish! Captain and crew really do everything they can to make sure you have the best time possible out on the water. Great boat, great tackle and gear, great captain and crew, and great big smiles when you’re all done, that’s what happened to me anyway.

Joel, it was of the upmost pleasure to have you on board today, sure was a great time. Fishing has been up n down on certain days but I’m glad we could stumble up on a few. Thanks for the kind words and I truly believe your grandpa was there the whole time cheering you on when you had your hands full. Hope to see you again some time to share doing what we do.

I took my youngest on a half-day trip with Captain Mike and First Mate Mike. We didn’t catch a thing, but that wasn’t for lack of effort on their part. Captain Mike warned me ahead of time and asked if I’d like to choose a different day with better weather, but that was literally the only day I could go. Matt, thank you for the kind words, I guess there always has to be a first for everything even if it’s not catching any fish we were after, but there is always next time in better conditions. Please come see us in the warmer months this summer and we will most certainly keep you guys busy catching next time for sure.
