- Background
- I have been involved in the fishing industry since childhood, my father Dom Christy was the founder of the Calamari industry in South Africa and a pioneer fishing charter operator in the Eastern Cape. It was natural for me to follow in his footsteps as I have always loved the ocean, its challenges and early on set about to achieve landing and recording world records in targeted species. I worked my way through the ranks as an Eastern Cape fisherman and then on to a National level representing SA at various world cup events winning gold along the way. I am a registered IGFA Captain and Weight Master and am currently Vice President of the Eastern Cape Fishing Association. I am blessed to have the opportunity to fish locally and internationally with some of the leading fishing gurus of our time. I am incredibly lucky that I have been able to establish the busy St Francis Safaris Fishing Charters business whereby I am able to offer my experience daily and treat guests to the best fishing.
- Techniques
- I prefer to catch fish! The technique and style will be based on the conditions on the day, water temperature, wind factor, tide change etc.. We have a lot of fun and offer a mixture of trolling, bottom fishing as standard practice, depending on the anglers and their abilities we can offer a few more tricks to ensure a lots of fun and fish.
