Josh is a really friendly, experienced and professional captain. The boat is great, well equipped with everything you need and the waters around Sooke are just beautiful! We had an amazing day out there and were able to catch some crabs and salmon. Josh can share a lot of interesting stories about the area and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a fishing charter around Sooke.

I can’t speak highly enough of my charter with Joshua. It was my first time fishing in the ocean and he made me feel comfortable getting involved right from the start. He was friendly, fun, patient, clear with his teaching and extremely knowledgeable. I have two more charters planned with Hooked on Fishing for this upcoming season, and hope to add many more in the future.  Great value for money, and an all round great experience. My family and I went out with Josh last summer near Sooke Vancouver, sumemr of 2023. We had an amazing time. Josh is great company and very knowledgeable about the fish and the waters. We had fish on the boat right away. He is very respectful to all those on board and all other fishermen out on the waters. Our time on his boat was worth every penny!

This was the first time I’ve ever been on charter before, and I’m definitely going to be booking this again. I did this as a little surprise for my partner and Josh was super informative of what to expect hopping on a boat out in the sea for the first time. If you’re at all thinking about booking one this is the guy that I would call. Yes I caught a 40lb+ halibut.
