- Background
- Since I was a kid, I liked fishing. I live in a fishing village of Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Mexico, in which I grew up happy with ropes, boats, hooks, and fishing on the dock every day. When I was 12 years old, I had my first boat to take care of as I now take care of my fishing boats. I started participating in fishing tournaments in the municipality and the state — I won several tournaments, such as "Andres Garcia Lavin" in Puerto Morelos (1st place), "Riviera Maya International Tournament" in Playa del Carmen, "Prof. Augusto R. Sosa Centeno" (1st place), "Copa Capitan Ferrat International" in Cancun (1st place), and "Rodeo de Lanchas Mexicanas" in Cozumel (1st place). I have also passed to the National of Mazatlan and participated in the World Cup.
- Techniques
- Our fishing style in the area is using J hooks, lures, and colored plastics. We usually throw two rods in the outrigger, one central, one in the downrigger, and one more in the short side. My favorite style is trolling with lures and Ballyhoo.
