He has severed for decades with industry groups to represent and preserve the publics access to our great fishery in the Gulf. Mike served for years as the President of The Charter Fisherman's Association, Representing the charter industry with members from the South Texas Valley to Rhode Island, and has testified in front Congress on more than one occasion concerning fisheries issues and the effects of federal management on our fishing industry. Mike has also served for many years on multiple NMFS advisory panels lending his experience to help shape current regulations from a fisherman's perspective, as well as his hands on research in the western Gulf, including tagging and recapture, hydro-acoustics, and biological sampling from the Mississippi river to Brownsville Texas, work that is currently being used to h
