We had an action-packed day fishing the jetties at Ponce Inlet! The Redfish were fired up, and we put some nice ones in the boat using live pinfish on a Carolina rig. We adjusted weights between 1โ€“3 oz to cover different water depths and keep the baits right where the Reds were feeding. The Pompano bite was steady as well, hitting on shrimp tails worked through the current. Between the Reds and Pompano, there was plenty of rod-bending action and smiling faces at the dock. The fish are here and biting โ€” itโ€™s a great time to get out on the water and experience the fun for yourself!

Halifax River & Ponce Inlet Fishing Report Snook season is officially open as of September 1st, and the bite has started strong. Anglers are already seeing quality action along the Halifax River and through Ponce Inlet. The jetties are producing some true monsters, with live mullet and pinfish proving to be reliable baits. For those preferring artificials, a Salt Strong prawn rigged on a ยฝ-ounce jig worked near the bottom has been an effective way to hook into a personal best. Over in Spruce Creek, snook have been ambushing bait along the mangroves, offering plenty of opportunities for inshore action. Keep an eye near marina buoys as wellโ€”some hefty tripletail have been hanging around, and fresh cut ladyfish has been a top choice for bringing them boatside.

Fishing just outside the jeeties at Pince inlet just near daytona beach you can crush some sheepshead. However the redfish stumbled apon this area which was just the inshore pass an let me know redfish are on the move! He was hiding near a mangrove also near an oyster bed. Try throwing shrimp or snall crabs as bait!

These 2 fish assassins decided to join my charter from North Carolina and absolutely slay it. They took my charter from Daytona Beach, and we made down to the creeks in Ponce Inlet! It was super foggy in the morning an difficult to see at first. However, those creeks are still full of fish this time of year. We fished an outgoing tide. As the weather warms up, so do the sharks! We had about 4 sharks on and landed 2 of them! They slayed the sheepshead with catching over 25 and about 15 trout. All an all they had 10 different species and these best friends had a great time! Outgoing tides are best for the creeks because the big fish that are in the back of the creeks make their way out to the passes or more open water! As a captain, i have a bunch of apps. Every app said today was a bad time to go. Welp, not for this guy. After taking a last-minute cancelation, Mike absolutely slayed it today. He caught his first sheepshead and shark today. The bite was nonstop. With an east wind and still.winter. these fish were found on droppoffs. Fish this time a year are still in winter patterns, even if it's 80 in February. They are still in deep trophs waiting on bait. That's exactly what we did. We fished the tail end of an incoming tide with live shrimp and fresh dead mullet

After much of January being absolutely cold and a north wind this day was finally warm and minimal wind. A north wind and cold can basically be a dead day or hard day of fishing since fish like consistent patterns. We started off at the creeks to fish in ponce inlet for some sheepshead. We eneded up with trout. Bluefish, whiting, sheepshead and more. We used medium rods with a 1oz sinker carolina rig and nailed atleast 15 of them. We started fishing at slack tide as i was waiting for the incoming tide to come in. Once the tide turned thats whennother fish showed up to the party! The guys had a blast. But they wanted a monster. I knew the only real chance we had near south Daytona was a big black drum. They waited patiently justbas the sun had set. We skipped a shrimp by a bridge piling an the fight of his life was on. The big ugly came out. We got this massive Black Drum! They couldn't of been any happier! Warm weather after cold brings on the bite.
