I’ve known Ron for 3 decades and I’ve known Hunter (deckhand) for several years since they began on the Nautilus. Hunter is a polite, responsible and eager young man that is capable of back to back days/months of 14 to 16 hour days. Ron has instilled in Hunter work ethics that are hard to find in people his age. This combination is as good as any Charter Boat operation, and better than most, that you will find in the San Francisco area. Ron looks at fishing as a science and he understands the science behind the fish he hunts. Coupled with this knowledge stemming from 40+ years of fishing experience in these waters makes him an excellent hunter and his ability to put us on the fish is truly impressive. Captain Ron was a true professional. He was patient and attentive to our needs, providing expert guidance and ensuring we had a safe and enjoyable experience. His knowledge of the local fishing spots was impressive. We would absolutely book another trip with him.

This was our second trip out with Captain Ron and I would never go with another fisherman. He is a legend and had us on the fish the whole time we were out. We caught our limit of Striped Bass by 8am and halibut by noon. Both Ron and Hunter (first mate) were very knowledgeable and did a great job cleaning and filleting the fish at no extra charge. Ca’t wait to go out again!

Captain Ron and deck hand Hunter were great they kept us talking and switching spots until we got fish. Nobody was on fire weather was bad but right off the bad Captain Ron had coffee and great conversation. This was our Family Christmas present trip and it was amazing we laughed, had fun, got to take some amazing photos and caught fish not a lot of keepers but enough to keep all 7 of us happy and provide dinner for all of us. So overall an amazing trip. Captain Ron and Hunter were very kind and worked well with the few in my group that had never fished before they were not pushy or grouchy when the little or adults reeled the weight right to the first eye and I cringed or didn’t give them slack when they were trying to get their fish in the boat. It was a huge relief for me because I didn’t have to do it or yell and I could stay the nice understanding father and stay in good graces with all on the trip. So Ron and Hunter if you read this thank you. You guys made my families Christmas very memorable and drama free. We even have someone on the boat catch their very first fish ever she is hooked, great Christmas present so congrats and way to be great stewards of creating the next generation of anglers.
