Here’s a quick “What’s Biting” report for Sarasota Bay this March: Snook – Biting well, especially around docks and mangroves on warmer days. Night fishing around lighted docks has been productive too. Redfish – Active on shallow grass flats and mangrove shorelines. Best action during high tides, with some holding in potholes during low tides. Trout – Plenty of action on deep grass flats, with bigger trout showing up in the shallows early in the morning. Mackerel & More – Spanish and king mackerel are heating up in the coastal gulf, along with cobia and tripletail near buoys and floating structures. Fishing is solid right now, and things will only get better as the water warms up. Book a trip and let’s get on the fish!

My 15-year-old son and I booked a morning charter with Captain Jose on Sarasota Bay. Had a great trip out with Captain Jose. Wasn’t sure that my 73 year old father could do a full four hour trip so I booked for a two hour trip and Captain Jose put us on trout, pompano and triple tail in short order! Jose was patient and accommodating helping my dad and I have a great time catching. Really enjoyed our quick trip and will definitely get out for a longer session with Captain Jose next time I’m visiting!

Jose is the man! He is so knowledgeable, fun, determined and just an all around great guy. My Dad and I had a wonderful experience with Jose. He took us all around beautiful Sarasota to various spots to find fish . We definitely caught all types of fish flounder, spotted trout , Spanish Markel, triple tail and catfish . We tossed some but had plenty to cook for dinner. Jose filleted our fish as well .We are so thankful to have met Jose he really made our daughter/dad trip amazing . I will ONLY... Meer

Son and I did the early morning topwater trip with Capt. Jose. Feb. 20. Caught about 10 nice seatrout…..and a bunch of big ladyfish that were fun too. Jose is a super nice guy and knows his stuff. Excellent value will do it again soon.
