I took the Ward Family out on a morning that, quite frankly, was not looking the best. But, Doppler radar and several weather reports indicated no rain. We ran for 10 minutes and found our spot, near some rocks. Water was clear. On the first drop of the first rod, there was a bite. Then, a second bite. After a bit of on-the-job training, the Wards started to hook up with some fish. We caught some Fluke, Sand-sharks a Sea Robin and a Black Sea Bass. Because Sea Robin makes great bait, I offered a bounty of $2 for each of them. (You can see who has a career as a bounty hunter.) But, my hat is tipped to…MOM. She hung in there with high spirits and a super positive attitude. 🥇 This family is in good hands and I can’t wait to have them back on the Wee Cat. Thank you, Ward Family! 🎣😁

Thank you, Eckert Family!!!! Today was so special as both boys caught their first fish!!! It’s a lifetime memory with Mom and Dad in Ocean City! Not only that, we learned a lot about fish, fishing equipment and how to fish. You’re a terrific family and I hope to see ya’ll back again! 😁🎣🐟

Thank you! I’m so happy to wake up and read this wonderful family had a great (5-star) fishing trip on Wee Cat Charters. We caught fish (5 species!) and saw a lot of nature’s early morning activities, like Ospreys bringing back fish to their nest, Arctic Terns diving to bathe, baby sea gulls and bluefish jumping. We also fished using several methods: jigging, trolling and using top/bottom rigs. The boys even got a chance to steer the boat (understand how a boat handles). It was a big experience for three hours. I hope to see you guys again! Tight lines!

I’m glad Steve and his crew had a “fun time.” We moved from spot to spot in an effort to catch Fluke. (I have to keep a good balance between moving time and fishing time, too.) Based on recent successful trips, I used Gulp in specific color/shape to maximize chances of catching an 18” legal flounder. While it was a bit slow, (Mother Nature controlled) we managed to board several near legal sized fish. If fishers are young and inexperienced, catching and boarding fish is tougher. To make this a “five-star” trip, I didn’t subtract time off the charter period to allot for Steve’s late arrival. In fact, because four kids were excited to be on the water, unlike a normal fishing charter, I moved to a safe area so his kids could dive off the boat and swim, exceeding the allotted charter time. I also took several pictures during the trip and sent them to Steve. I could not have done anything better as a charter captain. Unfortunately, catching legal-sized fish is not guaranteed, for many reasons.
