Six of us fished for bluefish with Captain John and his First Mate Ronnie. I didn’t think we’d catch anything in the heat of the afternoon, but boy howdy we couldn’t quit catching! We reached our limit and had a ball doing it, just like Captain John said we would. His spinners are magic, and he knows where the fish are. We also had dinner on board and it was spectacular - he beats any restaurant we could have gone to on shore. This was the best charter we have EVER taken, and we’ve all tried a bunch, all over the world. Great company, great gear, beautiful boat, and we plan to come back in the Fall. The only problem is that now we’ve all been spoiled rotten.

Our party of 6 scheduled a 6-hour trip with Captain John from 12 PM to 6 PM on the 4th of July. Capt. John and Phil provided great company and provided plenty of stories and humor to fill in the time between fish bites. We opted for the $25 crab cake lunch and it consisted of seasoned crab with no filler. We were all surprised at the quality since a similar crab cake would run you $40 in a typical seafood restaurant. Moreover, Capt. John’s navigation coupled with Phil’s fishing assistance resulted in us landing numerous fish, causing us to quickly hit our limit of 5 bluefish/person. At one point we lost 7 fish at once (due to our novice abilities in reeling them in) but there were so many bites that it didn’t even matter. Of course, Phil and Capt. John gave us advice after each misstep to guide us towards success. After docking, Capt. John cleaned, fileted, and packaged the fish for us, and they were delicious. We had a great day and we’re looking forward to coming back again!

Beautiful scenic sunrise to die for, the fishing was made easy by an excellent first mate, Mr. Phil. That guy is the real deal. Caught some massive rockfish and a decent size bluefish, it treated us real good when we had it for dinner. The lunch, worth the pre-order. Fat crab cake the size of my daughters huge head. Not only was it massive it was pure crab complimented with delicious sides that I’d commit a felony to try again. After that we sat back and relaxed on a gorgeous boat (46 feet I believe). Let me tell you it was almost a life changing experience. Other than my immune deficient son getting sick on the boat ride, it was a trip I’ll never forget. Shoutout Capt. John and F.M. Phil for the best boating ride ever! Woohoo go Coast Guard!

Captain John and first mate Ronny had to put the work in to get on the fish today but the kept working until we found them.  My whole crew got to boat their first Rockfish and we had a great time cruising the bay on a super comfortable boat.  Both Capt John and Ronny shared great stories and jokes.  Overall awesome experience and I will definitely use Patent Pending Charters the next time I want to get on the Bay!
