We were celebrating my mother’s birthday and this was a perfect day! The captain and first mate were funny and we felt so comfortable. The boat was the perfect size and it was clean and nicely laid out. We brought our cooler with drinks and lunch. However, Captain John is a chef, so next time I may pre-order a meal. The crew even cleaned and filleted our fish. My daughter and I don’t really fish, but we did fish, and we were so comfy we took a nap! We’ve already planned our next excursion with Captain John! You will not regret this decision… Go for fun, go for fishing, go for relaxation… Either way, you’ll have a blast!

This charter was an awesome experience, we had a decision to make regarding the weather being questionable and decided to give it a go anyhow. Captain John and his First Mate Rick did an awesome job finding them fish and making things happen today. If you’re looking for a fishing experience with an outstanding crew this is the charter for you. The knowledge that the captain and the first mate had was extremely impressive and they are excellent at passing the information. The lunch meal was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend if you book with them to give it a try. I will be definitely booking another trip or many trips with them in the future and I will be recommending them to whoever is looking to go on a trip like this. All in all it was just an absolute awesome time!

We had an incredible day on the water and had blast getting to know the Captain and crew. We started the day off with catching bait using ultra light tackle and then making our run to the fishing grounds.

Within minutes the the rock candy (bait fish) were luring in the Rockfish that the Chesapeake is known for. Catch after catch we were pulling them in. I got to learn a bit of patience while letting these grand creatures run with the bait, fighting that urge to pull up and set the hook. I think I might have to give this fishing a try while in the gulf.

After several hours, We were completely worn out. I’m not sure I can even lift my arms this evening.  We hit our limit, and headed back in.

While the fishing was amazing, I have to say, I’m impressed with the knowledge this team brings. They are gracious, full of the best stories, and amazing hosts. During some of the ride out and back I was able to get some much needed sleep in the captains quarters down below.

I very much recommend this charter and while we had an epic day of fishing, I would have been just as happy catching only bait. They will honestly have you feeling like you made two life long friends by the end of the trip. Hands down, the best charter I’ve been on, and I usually take 3-4 charters a year just to avoid purchasing a boat…

I recently booked a half-day charter with Capt. John for my son’s birthday. My wife and daughter joined me and this was our first time doing a fishing charter. Capt. John and his first-mate, Rick, were very kind, knowledgable, and provided a great experience for us on this special occasion. Despite a challenging tide, we were still able to catch 15 smaller fish which was great and they tasted wonderful. The boat is very nice and air-conditioned inside, though the rear deck gets very loud at cruising speed from the diesel engine, though I imagine this is the case for most boats of this size. The only issue we had was that the toilet was clogged and we weren’t notified until *after* we boarded the boat. Capt. John provided a big bucket and bag for inside the toilet, but obviously it wasn’t ideal and naturally I expected a functioning toilet given the cost of the charter. That said, I didn’t have a backup option and also needed the trip to happen that day so rescheduling wouldn’t have been an option. We made the best of it and things turned out fine.

This was my first fishing charter that I have ever done. I enjoyed the boat which was clean and very spacious, offering room inside and out. I brought my wife and two small children with me. Capt john and his first mate were very nice and excellent with the kids. As a group we were able to keep the children engaged through out the trip. The views from the bay were excellent and the weather was perfect in my opinion. However, we were only able to catch 8 small fish which we could not keep. Capt john informed us that the fishing has been slow this month prior to getting us on the water but I was hoping for at least one keeper. If I could do it again I would message the Capt of whichever charter you are thinking about going with and ask if it is the right time to book or not.
Overall I enjoyed the boat and the company of Capt john and his first mate but we were unable to bring home any fish and that negatively stained the experience.
