Captain Rafa knows how to find the tarpon. We were sitting on top of them most of the day although they just were not on the bite. Captain Rafa really pulled out all the stops trying many different spots and techniques. Unfortunately the tarpon just were not responding. Finally near the end of the trip we found them again and caught one. Captain Rafa really put in the effort to make sure I caught my first tarpon. I will definitely recommend Captain Rafa to anyone coming his way. His knowledge of the area and the fish are very evident in his approach. Not everyday of fishing is going to produce a bonanza of fish, but having a knowledgeable tenacious captain will always increase your chances of having at least some success.

Capt. Rafael was one of the kindest souls we encountered on our Puerto Rico trip. We arrived before sunup (make sure you pee before you go to the yacht club & bring bug spray and sunscreen). The trip overall was amazing. The water was serene and there were fish everywhere. Capt. Rafael never sat down. He was moving to a new location, recasting a fishing rod, chumming the water, something. He kept the boat immaculate, always cleaning and wiping things down. Our first two hours were a little quiet, but I thoroughly enjoyed the scenary, and the last few hours were amazing. Seemed like a ling was always singing. We pulled 3 good sized fish onto the boat. Capt. Rafael was extremely professional and efficient in getting them reeled in, on the boat and ultimately back in the water. We even lost a few along the way and he was confident we could get one more before our trip was over, so he was generous enough to stay out on the water to get one more on the boat, lucky 3! This was 30 more minutes than our scheduled time but he was so kind and patient. This experience made our trip and was my BF’s favorite part of the whole vacation. We’ve repeatedly looked at the pics, he and wants to go back to Capt. Rafael the next time we are in town. Can’t say enough good things, book the trip!

The captain is very professional and friendly. I was a man of few words on the day and he respected that. The fishing was slow and we had to earn every bite. In the end i was able to add three species to my list of fish caught including 2 silver kings (Tarpon). They were small ones but thats ok. We saw more than a few monsters but the big ones werent eating.

I also caught a reef shark and a cero mackerel when we went out to the beach for an hour or so.

All in all it was a really good trip and i would definitely recommend Captain Rafa and Go Tarpon PR to anyone.

Capt. Rafa was a great choice for me and my 8 year old son. We caught as many tarpon as we could, bringing each one on the boat for a pic, plus a snook. Rafa was excellent with my son and we had nice conversation throughout. We learned about the animals we saw, and some Puerto Rican traditions. He’s very experienced and keeps his boat super clean. We highly recommend :)
