Ocean have been calm lately., hoping it will stay in this condition longer. Mahi got pretty active. 10 tails for 4 hours, one got Tex man ?on its way to the boat!

Today is my mahi-mahi fishing report in February 2020 is about old good fishing. I stood on the pier and waited for my guests. This couple ordered fishing from us through the Fishingbook website. We had to change the date of their fishing due to weather conditions. February in the Dominican Republic is considered one of the windiest months and for this many days fall under cancellation due to the harsh condition of the ocean. Today, weather conditions were normal, wind 5-7 meters per second and a wave of 4.8-5.2 feet. GUESTS ARRIVAL. At 7:50, my guests were already in the parking lot of the port of Punta Cana. A very nice couple from New York State. We met as usual and went to the boat. Already after 15 minutes we passed the reef zone and prepared our gear for fishing. The ocean turned out to be harsher than we expected, but my guests were doing good! The first hour passed and we diligently searched for fish. The captain led our boat farther and farther from the coast and suddenly the treasured crack of the reel and the first catch on the hook. FISHING BEGINS MAHI MAHI FISHING PUNTA CANA Our guest went down and sat in the fisherman’s chair. Already after 15 minutes, a big barracuda was on board. Our guest shared his emotions with his wife and said that this is one of the heaviest fish that he had to reel. Having departed still a lot, we finally saw the hunting birds and, adding gas, set off in their direction. Walking closer to them, we threw off the gas and slowly began to plow the water and here it is a bite! This time there was a Mahi-mahi on the hook! We again invited our guests down and suddenly another bite! Each guest had a fishing rod in their hands and they carefully reeled the prey. After 20 minutes, 2 big fish were on board. SAVE THE LID!!! But suddenly one of the fish began to resist so much that it knocked out the lid on the box and jumped out into the water! And the lid jumped into the ocean with the fish! Save the Lid !!! – I shouted and our boat began to turn, while Alex and I tried to catch the lid out of the water. From the outside, it was probably ridiculous, but we really worried about the lid. 10 minutes later, the lid was in its rightful place. And we continued our fishing! ONE THE WAY BACK! MAHI MAHI FISHING PUNTA CANA! Looking at the watch, I realized that it’s time for returning. There was one hour left until the end of our fishing, and we were quite far from the coast. Let’s go to the port! ”I shouted to the captain. Moving to the side of the port, we continued fishing and another bite and another big barracuda. Our guest also dealt with it in 10 minutes. And suddenly we saw the birds and decided to come closer to them and bite again. This time on the hook there was a bull of a good swing. Our guest had to fight with him! the fight took about 20 minutes and in the end, our guest won. Another fish was on board. Our fishing time was coming to an end and we headed to the port.

Our first fishing in October! 1 of October and it was raining from 4 am without stopping. I was standing on the parking of Marina Punta Cana and thinking should I cancel the fishing because f the weather or should we try to go in the ocean. It was raining already for a second or third day in a row. I knew that if we go fishing we definitely will have a good catch due to the fact that fish bites better in the rainy weather but still to get all wet was not a really nice perspective. So while I was in my thought my clients arrived. The rain was still strong and I asked them to wait in the car until it will be lighter. So 30 minutes after the rain was almost finished b we went on the boat. In the next 30 minutes, we were already on the water pulling our lines into the water. And the fishing started. Another 30 minutes our captain tried to run away from the rain and to search for a fish. And then we heard the sound of the reel! Here comes the first one!!! So the first one was Mahi-Mahi (good size one) and our guest reeled it out of the water. In about 20-25 minutes another reel worked! That time I invited our fisher girl to reel out fish and that one was Wahoo, again the good size one. After the second bite was a little brack and then again two fishing rods worked at one time! Nice 2 more Mahi was on board! And here the rain again started. It was raining everywhere, we even could not see the island. Our guests went into the cabin and we were keeping fishing. After some time rain stopped for a little and another bite! And another Mahi! It was the 5th fish of a good size and our guests decided to go to the natural swimming pools to taste their catch. Poor us, the rain started again and by the time when we got into the lagoon, it was quite strong. How to cook the catch for our clients on the BBQ when it was so rainy?! We did not know but we decided to try. And we succeed:)))) Our clients taste Mahi and Wahoo to compare the taste of the meat. And they like both :) The rain stopped for some time so we had a chance to do the photos of our guests. So we had extremely wet fishing but still, it was nice adventure.

It was one of nice sunny days. We went fishing with a shared group. Some of the people were first time on trolling fishing, and didn’t know what to expect. Suddenly we heard this magic sound of the reel and we understood that it is Marlin. And guess what?! The fun and exciting fishing begins!!! The result you can see on photos:)

It was a nice sunny day. the ocean was calm, there was no wind. the captain and the fisherman were very worried because they knew that in such calm weather it was very difficult to catch fish. After 20 minutes as we disbanded the rods, the first bite was gone. The Gods of Fishing were on our side. we took first barracuda. 10 more minutes and the second bite! that was a king fish! and silence again but not for a long, next bite and we’ve already pulled out Mahi. 2.5 hours later, our catch was: 3 barracudas, 1 mahi and 1 king fish. Our guests decided to go to the natural pools where they had a rest, and Captain Christian prepared their catch for them on the grill.

Hey guys! We as a usual had lots of fun with our clients. The Lady was a real Fisher Girl!!! She drag like 10 of mahi-mahi and she love it!!! We were fishing only about 3 hours but the fishing was really good? then we went to the natural swimming pools and while we were cooking mahi on grill she had a crazy photocession.
