My family and I enjoyed our fishing trip with Captain Craig. We arrived early, but Captain Craig already had the boat in the water and was ready to depart as soon as we stepped on the boat. The captain is very familiar with the area and pointed out landmarks as we traveled into the Chesapeake Bay. Once we reached the bay, Captain Craig set up two poles to fish for Spanish Mackerel, and it wasn’t long before we were reeling them in. As it got later in the day, Captain Craig took us to a spot where we could bottom-fish for Croaker and Spot. Everyone in our party got a chance to catch a fish or two, and we took home enough fish for several generous meals. Captain Craig did his very best to make our trip enjoyable. He was patient with our 10-year-old daughter, who does not have much experience fishing and almost dropped one of his poles into the bay. We will book with him again and would not hesitate to recommend Grading Scales Sportfishing.

We had an excellent day on the lower Chesapeake Bay flounder and Cobia fishing. Captain Craig has excellent equipment, and handled the boat amazingly as we worked the pilings of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge tunnel for flounder.  We landed several nice fish before the sun got up high enough in the sky to allow perfect site casting conditions for Cobia.  We had action nearly the entire day, catching our limit and releasing numerous more. We even had a trophy release citation stud! Capt Craig was not your typical charter captain who runs the entire show. He taught us the why’s, how’s and reasons for what we were doing thruout the day and even let us cast at the surface cruising cobia, giving us pointers when we missed. This was a wonderful trip with a fun, knowledgeable Captain and I highly recommend him.

We absolutely loved it. We didn’t catch as many fish as we thought we would, but we caught two sharks and a sting ray which we were not expecting at all. It was such an amazing experience. Captain Craig was awesome and very patient with us. We can’t wait to book our next trip!
