Captain Thorny and Mate Sean worked their tails off to provide a great, successful Salmon and Lake Trout trip for this Lake Champlain rookie from NJ.  They explained the fishery, hydrogeography, and local lure. I took my two sons and I fishing with Capt. Ron and his first mate David.  Rob has spent 40 years on Champlain so he knew the spots to go for salmon, walleye, and lakers and the tackle to use.  We managed to catch some salmon in slow conditions but caught many lake trout.  Not only did Ron and David put us on the fish but taught us about the history of the lake and its fishery and also tips and tricks we could use if we went after these fish ourselves.  We have done other guided trips but... This is definitely a trip we will rebook over and over.  We all had amazing laughs, stories to share, and learned so much about fishing on this adventure!  The boat is perfect for all the wives who may worry,  as I got princess treatment and a nice clean bathroom :)

Awesome experience fishing with the fellas and landed a variety of species from the lake. They’re very flexible and will give 110% to accommodate requests and make sure the experience is pleasant. Best part, it’s a short jaunt to the fishing grounds unlike saltwater where it could be more than an hour, severely eating up fishing time. Dont hesitate to book with these guys, it’s a must do when visiting the Burlington Area!

took sister and son out with Captain Thorney.  Mallett Bay was like a washing machine most of morning and we cleaned house.  bag limit for big lake trout and found a handful of gator pike.  Trolling but was active as he taught us how to set up the rigs and participate the whole time.  really had a blast.  well done and will be back.
