Background: Captain Mike Patterson started fishing at the tender age of 4 years old in a stream behind his house in Maryland and he continued to fish the state's diverse fishery as he was growing up. Although Captain Mike started his career as an electrician, he suffered an extremely serious accident at 26, when he broke his neck. Deciding from this point on to live his life to the fullest, he became a dive instructor and moved to Islamorada, where he ran a dive shop and led offshore fishing charters. Having enjoyed a successful career offshore, he decided to become a full-time backcountry fishing guide, entering and winning multiple backcountry tournaments. He's now been a fishing guide for over 30 years and, having fully recovered from his near-death accident, is determined to continue living his life to the fullest and to be thankful for every day he has on this earth. Captain Mike fishes with captains Chris and Phil. They are also amazing captains and will make your day on the water perfect.

Weather was less than ideal, still managed to catch lots of mangrove snapper and even hooked up with a couple of sharks near the end of the trip. Very knowledgeable and fun. Would definitely use this charter again. Fishing with Captain Phil made you feel like you were fishing with one of your buddies. Took this trip with my wife, he was very respectful, patient, and instructional, as this was the first time for both of us doing this kind of fishing!

I showed up to go fishing today and captain Mike was not there. He used a “subcontractor” to take me fishing. He used frozen cut bait which I had to cut myself and bait my own hook. The captain soaked me from head to toe several different times on the way back. He hit every wave he could possibly hit.l All we did was fish for snapper all day long. I would like to say that here at Fintastic fishing we do a great job. Some people you just can’t please I guess. We’re did talk the day before the trip and I told you you would be fishing with Capt Phil. I recently had a total knee replacement, and captain Phil that ran This trip has been working for me driving my boats for over eight years now he is not a subcontractor. This is the very same boat that I advertise and we just took the wrap off of it and we’re having it redone. As any fishing trip goes, our weather temperatures have been very low down here recently and Fishing was very tough. We try to do our absolute best to catch you as many kinds of fish, but it was just a tough day. Everyone knows you can’t control the weather or the waves that got you wet ,or the fishing. Also, boats will be boats and they do break every once in a while. We run a very straight up great fishing trip and you can tell by the reviews on my site. Yeah I’m so sorry that you weren’t happy. I wish you had called me while you were here and I want to try to do something for you. We want to make everybody happy.
