With more than two decades of guiding experience on Montana’s legendary waters, Wes has built a reputation as a knowledgeable, patient, and highly skilled guide who delivers memorable days on the river for anglers of every ability level. Based in Southwest Montana, Wes spends his seasons guiding on world-class trout fisheries including the Madison, Missouri, Beaverhead, Jefferson, Big Hole, and Yellowstone rivers. His intimate understanding of these waters — from seasonal hatches to subtle structure changes — allows clients to fish with confidence and purpose, whether they’re stepping into a drift boat for the first time or refining advanced technical skills. Wes’s guiding style is relaxed, encouraging, and instruction-focused. He believes a great day on the water is about more than numbers of fish landed — it’s about learning, improving, and experiencing Montana’s wild places in an authentic way. Many of his clients return year after year, not only for the fishing, but for the easy conversation, thoughtful teaching, and genuine hospitality that define a day with Wes.
