Bobby Kimoto is a friendly, 4th generation fisherman who will do everything he can think of to give you a good day on the water. We saw a beautiful part of the world, talked about local history end biology, pivoted when conditions were challenging, we caught salmon and 4 types of rockfish and saw sea otters, sea lions and sea birds. Bobby showed us technique, took pictures, and found a place to cook our catch. A great day on the water.

On our 25th anniversary we booked a 6 hour day with Bobby Kimoto Charters.  We met him at the marina at 8am and after the initial pleasantries the next thing Bobby said was, “This is your fishing experience and I want you to tell me what you want”.  After that it was all about us.  His knowledge of the waters around Tofino after spending his entire life guiding here was more than evident, as with more than an hour left in our 6 hour day, we were ‘tubbed out!’  Bobby would take us to one of his spots, drop our lines and within minutes sometimes even seconds it was ‘fish on’.  He did this time and time again and we started to even be selective as, at the rate we were going we would surely catch more. The other thing that impressed us was his obvious love for this area and careful attention to protecting the habitat. It was a perfect day of fishing, under blue skies, no wind and Bobby’s guidance. We spent the rest of the day telling stories, laughing and becoming good friends, a truly epic 25th. Thank you Bobby!

We had a beautiful day on the water with Bobby! Fish weren’t biting too much but Bobby kept our morale up and we ended up catching 3 salmons, plus a load of prawns and a couple crabs. Communication was great and smooth from beginning to end. Bobby is a super nice and knowledgeable captain, he will share his knowledge and make you feel very comfortable if this is your first time charter fishing.

Had an amazing experience!  My wife and I have very little experience and Bobby was very patient and made us feel comfortable from the get go.  We caught a bunch of fish!  Bobby is the best guide and went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. 5 star experience, highest recommendations! If you’re lucky enough to snag a day he has available, you won’t regret it!

We went out on a 5 hour trip for winter springs. Bobby was very personable and very knowledgeable about the area and fishing in general. We hooked two springs but unfortunately we (or I) were unable to land them. The trip was still productive with the prawn traps producing very well. Although we did not land any salmon we enjoyed our trip on the water. We were fortunate to see a Grey Whale, many sea otters and Stellar Sea-lions. It is called fishing - and catching is not always part of the trip. No regrets and we would go again with Bobby Kimoto.
