We had an awesome time on board. The crew were great and super nice.

Clean older boat, tackle was on point. Didn’t come anywhere near expectations for price.

The captain was very kind, the first mate very silent.
We were immediately told upon boarding the vessel that Marlin was out of season. We then spent the next 10 hours trolling in excess of 12-15 knots. Two Bonita one wahu and a barracuda. The lines were not checked for several hours at a time while having seaweed stuck to them every time they were pulled in. Does not take Amex. Charged for the Marlin trip even though we didn’t even go very far off shore. Very dissatisfied.

We signed up online for my best friends 40th birthday party. We were stoked to go on the charter having never been to St. Thomas. The beginning of the trip was exciting as we went out into the ocean. We caught our first fish within 2 hours. There was a lot of sea weed or grass and Rolan had to reel in the lines multiple times throughout the trip; he was really nice and worked hard. The captain did not say much to us, stayed upstairs steering the boat.

My biggest concern was the exhaust fumes from the diesel engine had gotten both me and my friend sick for most of the ride. We knew it was not sea sickness because we felt better as soon as we got off the boat. Also, when it came to the end of the trip, the captain was very hesitant about sharing part of the catch. He kept giving excuses about the water in Red hook was not good to clean the filet. Finally Rolan cut off some of the fish and put it in the bag. Definitely not my best experience on a charter and we will not be taking another with Captain Red.

Went out for 4 hours and only got 2 small Bonito fish.  We just drove around. Never changed lures or did anything to adjust to the conditions. This was our first ocean fishing trip, and was very disappointing. The captain and first mate stayed up top almost the entire voyage. Understand the fishing was slow that day, but seems like we could have changed something up to make it more eventful. We just trolled the same spots over and over with the same equipment.
