Overall had a great experience! Trip had to be moved due to weather but hazzel was in touch with plenty of notice and flexibility to move to a better day. On the day of my trip, hazzel had an unexpected emergency so he arranged for a different captain (Miguel) to take me out and he was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Despite the rough seas he quickly put us on the fish and we caught a very nice representation of what the reef has to offer this time of year - snapper, grouper, yellowtail, triggerfish, grunt, etc. and this was supposedly a “slow” day due to the rough seas. I would strongly recommend taking something in advance for seasickness, as this was my first time in 30
years of boating ever getting ill (small boat in rough seas so it was understandable), but didn’t take away from a great trip. They nicely cleaned and bagged our catch for us at the end of the day. Will definitely book with them again!

A short but great trip with Captain Escobosa!  It was a last minute trip that I managed to squeeze in before going to the airport and catching a flight.  The captain and deckhand met me super early (still dark) at the dock.  On the way out, we trolled and caught a nice barracuda.  After getting to the waypoint, we bottom fished and in 30 years of freshwater fishing (bass, catfish), this was probably one of my top 5 trips.  We were catching so many fish I told the deckhand that I would bait my own hooks just to give my arm a break!  Granted, they were not monsters, but we were catching them non-stop. 

We had a spinning reel and baitcasting reel for bottom fishing.  The equipment was in good shape.  The captain brought sodas and beer.  On the way back we trolled for kingfish for a few minutes but no luck.  After that, a great boat ride back to the dock.  The weather was perfect!

All in all, a great trip!!!  Just a few thoughts:  1- have realistic expectations, 2- room is limited on the boat so keep that in mind, 3- the boat is at the dock in Puerto Morelos, the address had my maps showing in the middle of town, or somewhere on a beach, 4- just go, have a great time, and don’t forget to tip!  Muchos gracias mi amigos!!!!

We were on the water 1 1/2 hours before the captain said the seaweed was going to be a problem and offered to let us snorkel o stead. We didn’t go to snorkle, nor were we in swimsuits. The boat broke down multiple times while on the water and the smell of gasoline was nauseating. We didn’t touch a pole the entire trip and the trip cut short 2 hours and we were still expected to pay full price. $200 for pretty much a boat ride.

Hazzle and his assistant were very friendly and knowledgeable. Fishing was a bit slow but we did manage to catch beautiful Amberjack and lots of small rockfish.

We enjoyed our trip and would recommend the experience. The seas were a bit rough that day but we still managed to catch some fish. We ended the trip a bit early due to some queasiness on my part. Will remember the Dramamine next time!
