I am sorry you feel this way about your charter experience and the fact that you read the description to know I have a daughter as a crew member but managed to miss her age implying she’s a pre-teen and attends school during the week is beyond me. We never spoke about bottom fishing at all in any capacity, the trip says trolling or deep-drop but had we stopped to deep-drop your daughter’s boyfriend would have been 10 times sicker than he was, and the current conditions would not have given us a good chance to try and target fish on the bottom anyways as the current was moving way too fast for the bait to hold bottom offshore (and as I told your daughter when she asked the conditions today offshore for us was as normal as any other day.). At NO MOMENT was Robin or myself EVER talking about YOU or YOUR GROUP MEMBERS as we were trolling we bounced ideas around where we should try to locate the fish and what lures and bait we wanted in the spread to entice the fish since no one on the radio was having much better luck than we did, and you state you didn’t see any other boats around when I saw well over 7 boats over the course of the day, and we did interact with your group we gave a complete explanation of the entire set up and the baits we used yall asked, from there we were doing our duty paying attention to the lines waiting for a bite and figuring out what could have changed out luck, it’s fishing not catching there is no guarantee ever you will touch a poll while trolling, nore is there a guarantee you will catch fish regardless of what trip you book and what fish you want to target!

And I will add, even with 1 broken outrigger base, we still fished 5 lines the entire trip plus a teaser. So your statement of fishing at 1/2 capacity holds no water.

It’s called fishing not catching for a reason! Some times you come back with blood on the deck, sometimes you come back skunked, we did our best to try to get your group some fish, within 10min of leaving the dock we had a bite already and the fish shook the hook, the bite was slow but we did manage to get 3 Mahi to come into the spread about an hour later, leaving us a 2 star review because we did not manage to come back in with fish (something we the crew can not control) seems a bit harsh but thanks, enjoy the rest of your vacation and see you next time with better odds in our favor!
