This was our second trip with Jake Dempsey and he’s the best! We caught a variety of fish and had so much fun! He’s professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and has a great sense of humor. We highly recommend him!

We came to Duck, NC (OBX) from Vermont after having our vacation suspended twice due to covid - and every bit of it was worth it. 

One of the highlights was the 1:45 drive to fish with Jake at Dempsey’s.  Was a perfect, still, morning and the fishing was excellent.  From the gray trout at the start to the Red Drum and speckled trout throughout the 4 hour trip (along with a spanish mackerel and sea robin just to add to the list) it was purely a blast.  The fastest four hours of our entire vacation.  Jake was supremely knowledgeable and professional.  I highly recommend this team for your fishing experience. 

We have already decided that we will be calling on Jake again when we return (hopefully soon) to the Outer Banks for our next vacation and fishing experience.

Fished late July with Captain Jake. My 9 year old boy and I fished a little over half the day in the morning and then Captain Jake went back to the dock to pick up my wife and daughter for shelling and clamming in the afternoon. I can’t say enough good things about this trip and Jake. We had a blast. Even in tough conditions while dodging rain storms the Captain put us on fish. We caught a limit of spec trout, a few grey trout and couple others. The Captain worked hard to find fish. He was also very helpful with my son showing him casting techniques and making sure he had a good time. The shelling was also fun - having our own small “island”, which we only shared with a bunch of seabirds, to explore for an hour or so. The clamming was also top notch. We have a ton of fish and clams in the fridge for dinner the next couple nights. We saw a lot of wildlife while fishing and shelling (including a large sea turtle that swam under our boat). We definitely look forward to fishing with Capt Jake again.

The ABSOLUTE BEST TIME for my son and I. We went out 1/2 day a.m. and had a blast! Communication from time I booked until we got to the dock was GREAT! Even though the water temp was down for this time of year 67 degrees, he found some fish and we had a great time fishing and caught some spanish and puppy drum. He was open to what fish we wanted to catch, had great fishing gear and his new boat was awesome. It handled the inlet well when we went out ocean side and coming back to fish the sound. Top notch across the board and highly recommend this trip.
