Background: I’m Capt Jose Carbonell, grew up here in South Florida and have been fishing the canals and lakes since I was 8yrs old. Since then I’ve grown to become a very passionate angler and take great pleasure in becoming a full time guide this year. I enjoy teaching people new techniques and also learn from those that may have a different style of fishing, as the evolution of fishing is constantly changing and growing. I am also a competitive Bass Tournament angler on a semipro level. I specialize in Peacock Bass, Bulls Eye Snake Heads and other exotic species. My boat is a Stratos 201 Pro Elite equipped with the latest Garmin electronics and Panoptics transducer, 80lb thrust Minn Kota Trolling motor with weed cutter, twin red 8’power poles and powered with a 2020 Yamaha 250hp SHO.
Techniques: My perferred style of fishing is top water baits. There’s nothing more exciting than see your lure getting crushed! Other favories of mine is swim baits, jigs, flipping and using big worms on the ledges.

Captain Jose is the best! Knowledgeable, courteous and professional. Peacock bass was out target species. He put us on them, and kept us on them. He explained techniques to use, and we caught many! Truly was a great day on the water, did not disappoint! Highly recommend, will definitely book with him again!

My son and I had an absolutely tremendous two-hour afternoon trip with Jose today. Top boat, top equipment, top captain! More bass than we could have hoped for, including a beautiful peacock, which made our day. Booking was easy thanks to Jose’s prompt communication; we actually arrived an hour early, and after a quick text exchange he was there to meet us 20 minutes later! Overall, an exceptional experience, highly recommended. Thank you, Jose!

My 13 yr old son and I had our scubadiving charter boat cancel on us due to rough seas. We quickly booked with Jose after seeing he had a nice fiberglass 21ft Ranger bass boat. I caught 9 largemouth and my son caught 15 using artificial bait in 2 hrs. His boat is very nice and well kept, with new state of the art Garmin electronics. We had a great time fishing with Jose. I would recommend him for your fishing adventures in South Florida.

With Captain Jose we had a wonderful experience. We were able to fish several Bass and other species. Captain Jose knows the perfect places for you to catch beautiful fish and have an unforgettable day. He patiently explains the weighing techniques and is an excellent person.
