We drove in from Texas to fish off-shore of Key Largo. Unfortunately mother nature decided against that, Captain Miller contacted me Thursday evening and discussed the weather and offered to cancel the trip.(4-5’ seas) We decided to fish in the Mangroves for snapper. We caught a wide variety of snapper,and other fish that we don’t normally get to catch. Bill made the day very pleasant for us considering how the weather was not in our favor. I look forward to making another trip here to try off-shore fishing again.

Bill was very knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating.  He put together a great day of fishing, taking us to the reefs for the first part of the trip and then off shore for the remainder.  He had all the gear needed for us to catch any species we wanted to target and let us decide how long we wanted to try each type of fishing.  Our group all wanted to try to catch some deep sea species so we went out most of the day targeting tuna and dolphinfish. 
Bill explained everything really well and wasn’t afraid to teach his tactics.  I originally booked the trip the first day of my vacation to the keys to try to get some knowledge of how to fish for saltwater species (being from the Midwest this was a first for me), but due to high winds the first 5 days of the trip we weren’t able to get out on the charter till the last day of our trip.  Captain Bill gave a lot of good information about different tactics and which species to target that I feel educated next time I go out I would be able to have a lot more success shore and backwater fishing on my own. 
If you are someone wanting to come to the Keys and be taught how to catch fish while having a really fun day out on the water with good company, I wouldn’t book your trip with anyone else.  I can tell Bill really enjoys his job and wants everyone on his boat to have a memorable time while down in the Keys.  I would definitely book through him again if I were to book a charter in Key largo!!!

Captain Bill was great and fulfilled everything my wife and I wanted out of a fishing charter in Key Largo. Plenty of Mangrove Snapper were caught for a tasty “catch your cook” dinner at a nearby restaurant. He even hooked us up on a huge nurse shark that took about 30 minutes to get near the boat for a picture and safe release. The boat, rods, and reels were in good condition. He cut some great boneless fillets for us upon returning to the dock. Highly recommend Captain Bill!

We found Jimmy (Tail Gator Charters) through online reviews and he was great.  We got off to a slow start, most likely due to the ongoing storms for the last couple weeks.  Captain kept searching and we got into a nice school of mahi, catching multiple at a time.  He was very professional and super accommodating for my daughter and my mother.  I would definitely recommend for another trip!
