My wife and I booked the 5 hr morning trip. 7am to 12 midday. It was simply fabulous!! Luis was waiting for us on the beach. The biat and crew were great. We are complete beginners. We went out around 15 miles. Caught around 12 fish of various kinds including x2 Mahi Mahi. Other fish were used in a delicious cerviche which was made for us onboard. The crew prepared Mahi Mahi fillets which I am about to cook. A really great experience which I would highly recommend. Martyn

What a day!!! My son and I went out with Cpt Luis on a Tuna/Marlin hunt trip. The boat is a 28ft Panga that rides incredibly well and is full of character!  We started the day trolling for a pelagic bite 20 miles or so offshore but the bite was slow. Cpt Luis asked around on the radio and it seemed everyone was experiencing the same, at this point he suggested we bottom fish for a while and catch some fish before again hunting for a tuna bite.  The bottom fishing was on fire! Every drop a bite, from spanish Mackerel, to mutiple tile fish, and several other species. Shortly after Cpt Luis heard of a huge school of tuna 7 miles away, so we set off in pursuit!  Once we arrived it was like a scene from National Geographic, hundreds of spinner dolphin, birds diving and tuna busting the water. It was incredible!!!! We trolled through and hooked a big yellowfin that put up an unbelievable fight. After an hour we managed to get it to the boat and Luis gaffed it first time and onto the boat where Gilberto the first mate got to work fileting the fish. To top things off on the way back in we saw a Humpback whale and its baby swimming not far from the boat. Just an incredible trip, a fantastic captain and first mate. Cannot recommend them enough and would drive hours to fish with them again.

What a great day. We took a cab to the meeting area at a beach in Herradura. Captain Luis was there a little early and met us which was great. We got everything on the boat and departed. It started raining at a steady pace and we were immediately given additional jackets to keep us dry.  The crew was outstanding. They rigged all the lines and got everything situated. We trolled for the rest of the day and caught Mackerel, Yellow Tail, Yellow Fin and Mahi Mahi, 26 fish total. What a DAY. The fish was all cleaned and we took what we could eat home with us. Captain Luis also provided fresh made tuna sandwiches, beverages (even provided NA Heinekens since we don’t drink) and fresh ceviche😋. In addition to fishing we were treated to whales breaching(one with her baby), dolphin’s, sea turtle’s, and an amazing sunset. That’s what I call a successful day. We had some of the worse weather you could ask for and still walked away with one of the of the best memories with our full day fishing trip.  The day started out with large swells but Capt. Luis steered right through them and directly into a storm about 20 miles off the coast.  We braved the wind and rain all day and it was worth it.  We caught lots of yellowfin tuna throughout the entire day and Luis and Douglas made it as fun as you could for such bad weather.  The entire trip, they had smiles on and made sure we were comfortable and safe.  I don’t have any plans to return to Costa Rica but this trip has me dreaming of going back.  I hope to fish with Luis again in the future.  He’s definitely worth fishing with!  I cannot imagine how much fun a clear day would be but I can tell you we had a blast, even in some bad weather. Pura Vida!

We had the best time on our fishing trip — everything from start to finish was above and beyond. The captain and crew were incredibly kind, helpful, and generous. They made us feel so welcome and truly took care of everything.

They had drinks, snacks, and even fresh pineapple waiting for us on board. After we caught some fish, they cleaned and prepped it right there so it could be cooked — such a thoughtful touch.

And of course, the views were absolutely stunning. Being out on the water in Costa Rica, surrounded by that natural beauty, made the whole experience unforgettable. Highly recommend!
