Capt Zona put us on the fish the first time we stopped Kings , Schnook & Cobia. Overall an excellent day on the water.

I never write reviews but after thinking about it for a cpl days I feel I must. Plus you’ve sent me an email twice now asking for my review, so here it is.

I was very excited to take my first deep sea fishing trip this past week. There was (4) of us in total and the cost was $600. Of the total 4 hr trip, 2 of us got to fish for about 2.5hrs, 1 of us got to fish for 30mins and the other for 45mins. The rest of the time was spent trying to get to the fishing location/ trying to find fish when on location.

In the 2.5hrs of fishing we had 4 bites with fish on. 2 of those bites, the fish took the whole bait & hook. The other two were missed by our fault as there was slack in the line when reeling in. Mind you this was all of our first time deep sea fishing besides my father, it was his second. No instruction was given prior to the capt casting the lines and any instruction was given on the fly (in the captains defense he did have a fish on when he casted out the first line so maybe got caught in the moment).

As the trip was ending the capt made one last attempt to try and catch some fish. He found a cpl sharks and we swooped in on them. Me and my father were able to pull two to the boat and the other two guest (mother and wife) got a bite but one got off and the other one took the hook and broke the line.

So basically for $600 we went on a 1.5hr boat ride. We paid for (4) ppl to fish and only (2) got to fish for 2.5 hrs and the other 2 for about half an hr. And we didn’t catch no fish to take back with us.

Very disappointing for a first fishing trip. I will try again next year as we vaca here every year. But I will definitely be looking for a different guide.

And it’s crazy to me bc he was a nice guy. Had a few good reviews. And was a patriot (American flag/fire fighter phone case). I myself am a 3 tour veteran so I thought the trip was gonna be amazing….was I wrong lol.

Great experience. Never had a boring moment. Wherever the captain decided to stop fish were biting . We reached soon our limit. In a short form great adventure we will be back soon Captain.
Our age group today 20 years to 88 years and everyone had a blast.
