- Background
- Key Largo Sportfishing is a family-owned business. Founded by Brad Hansel and his wife Brenda, who have been fishing in south Florida their whole lives. Now, their Captain is their son Dustin. He started as a first mate on a family boat, and this was his favorite activity, every day after school. When he graduated, he made this into a profession and got his USCG license.
- Techniques
- Depending on the season, we target Sailfish, Dolphin/(Mahi-Mahi or Dorado), Snapper, Grouper, Marlin, Shark, & Tarpon. Though we catch many various species in addition: i.e: Wahoo, TripleTail, Tuna, Runners, etc. We offer a range of techniques from Kite fishing, Deep Dropping, Sight fishing and Trolling. Our crew uses the best technique for the targeted species depending on the season, and what been biting at the time. We stay up to date on local fishing reports and get out personally as often as possible to always be in the "know"! We recommend Grey's Taxidermy to mount your trophy catches, and fillet and you choose to keep (in season/ per regulation) and bag them up for you to take home! We recommend releasing any bill fish, after a quick photo when possible!
