I took my good friend fishing for her bachelorette and first ever fishing charter - Captain Dez did not disappoint! He was super friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. It truly felt like we were fishing with another one of our friends and we would highly recommend to anyone! We had to shift our plans a little to accommodate the weather but we had a fantastic time out and caught a ton of different species of fish, which made for an exciting day. Dez even let us know the local places that would help cook our fish up for us - which is usually hard to find while traveling and made for a great lunch! Whenever I’m back in the keys this will absolutely be my first stop.

Clean, comfortable boat. Plenty of shade available. Having a bathroom on the boat was a big plus. They had an ice cooler for us to use for our drinks and a dry storage cabinet for our belongings.  I never had to touch the bait because Captain Randy kept hooking us up! Every time a line went in, you could feel the fish jerking on the line within seconds . It was unbelievable.  All 6 of us were new to fishing and we had an incredibly successful day. We caught red grouper. pin fish, catfish, mutton snapper, mangrove snapper, puffer fish, eel, and a beautiful cobia.  Captain Randy went above and beyond to make this trip a forever memory for our family. Thank you!

I booked a charter for myself, husband, and two adult children. We weren’t quite sure what to expect since this was our first time but Dez (our captain) was FANTASTIC! He set us up for success by changing our fishing spots when the fish weren’t as plentiful. We caught enough fish for two meals and had a blast while fishing! We caught quite the variety of fish - hound, lady, sand sharks, puffer, catfish (all those were thrown back ) and mangrove snapper and sea trout (those are the ones we ate! Dez went above and beyond to make sure we had an awesome time and caught many fish. Highly recommend!!

Captain Bryan took my 11year old son and myself on the 3 hour charter. Although Mother Nature didn’t cooperate fully…At no fault of the captain, We did catch yellow tail snapper, grouper and pin fish. Captain Bryan did everything he could to make sure it was a fun and successful charter. We did see a manatee, a few nurse sharks and a big tiger shark, which was very cool! Captain Bryan is very knowledgeable, personable and a great fisherman/captain. Overall it was an awesome experience. I would absolutely book with Captain Jay Charters again if the opportunity presents itself, and highly recommend it!

The day started out very windy.  We got a text from the captain saying we’d delay the trip by an hour which proved to be a good decision.  Capt. Randy gave a safety briefing and we were off.  After about a 30 minute ride we hit our first spot with only 1 legal mangrove snapper and so we picked up and headed to another spot.  The second spot was a little better.  Capt. Randy put us on snappers and a few sharks.  The third spot proved to be the charm.  We caught grouper, out of season but a good fight.  More Lane and Mangroves snappers.  We even caught a few short yellow tails and short mutton’s.  We had our grand daughter with us and he catered to her every need including answering a few hundred questions.  By the end of the trip Randy even had her touching the fish including the sharks!  If you have little kids on your trip and want to get them out fishing Captain Randy is your guy!
