This review is not at all fair. First the owner is a fit 64 as am I. Our deckhand is a high school kid who can’t go yet. When one or two rods were not being used by guests, and no fish needed releasing, he put the line down 3 times the whole day for a few minutes,  hoping to get a chance at something besides red snapper. He released dozens of red snapper and baited hundreds of hooks. When the weather caused the guests to prefer the cabin, he moved into the most forward bunk to make room. Its is also the roughest ride on the boat and as you pointed out some of larger rods are stored there making it cramped. The bottled water was fine. New case from Costco. As for not trolling, there are no rigs in this close. This 10 hour trip goes 30 - 40 miles each way, and the closest rigs are at 70 miles. The other charter boat that happened by acknowledged there were no surface fish in the area. You were better off fishing the structure and trying to get other than red snapper.

This is the second poor review posted in 3 years. Yes the port engine is currently smoking. The part needed is on order but Yanmar parts can be slow to ship. The boat looks pretty good for 20 years, and has state of the art electronics and safety equipment. The engines are on their second season and burn 30% less fuel than the ones they replaced. We have not had others comment about breathing the fumes as they stay behind the boat unless idling and they don’t smoke at idle.

Yes the boat you were to take one engine would not start though it ran fine the prior day. This trip is a trolling trip for Jack Crevalle and Kingfish. Last Saturday the group caught two large Jacks and 3 kingfish. They were delighted. Thursday we went and there were no fish. You fished a total of 5 hours. The trolling was not productive so we tried bottom fishing but that was not productive either. You were given the option of cancelling or taking the Captain’s personal trawler and chose that option.  Apologies for the engine problem, and please try to see that we tried to accomodate you with what boat was available.
