Captain Mike was very friendly and experience with the fishing area.

For starters Captain Kenneth Jefferies and his Mate didn’t engage with our party of eight guys. Although the boat was nice we weren’t even given any explanations where we were going. Only to find out that we were traveling one hour out to some body of water where we were supposed to catch fish. Were told that we were able to bring our own tackle (plastics only for trolling) only to be criticized by the Mate when bringing our personal rods on board (“Where the Hell are you gonna put those?”) and they were put away by the first mate when we boarded to not be used at all. We sat around thinking that we were going to be at least somewhat entertained in some sense by the captain only to have listened to music and literally my team falling asleep for almost the entire duration of the trip. The mood of the captain and the mate were tired and seemed like they didn’t want to be there at all.  One of the first things and honestly the only thing that was said to me by the captain was “It’s been pretty hard out here for the past couple of weeks and I’ve had to turn people away.” Why weren’t we given the same courtesy. This trip was supposed to be therapeutic for myself on my birthday and for my family as we had other things that went on personally in our lives that we needed to get away from for a few hours. A good distraction. But in retrospect this seemed like a complete waste of time. Not to mention we came back to the dock two hours earlier and took two hours round trip to get to a spot where there were no bites.  The group before us cancelled on their trip and I’m sure I know why now. Don’t think we’ll go with this charter again. Not catching fish at times is a part of the trip but the morale of the crew and captain was depressing and even though it was dry on the water yesterday, we could’ve been somewhat entertained, at least had the opportunity to troll with our rods and tackle the way we were told we could and had a better time. I was the only person who even physically touched a rod in the water. As for the other seven of my group, my family, they had to watch. No instruction on how to fish in salt water, not a good experience at all. You never know what someone is going through but as a source of enjoyment and entertainment for a memorable moment in someones life you have to exhibit some sort of that. We can never get that time and money blown on this unenjoyable non entertaining complete waste of time with Captain Kenneth Jefferies (ex military like most of our group) and his First Mate (firefighter).

The trip started out badly.  Departure point that was provided by Booking was different than than the actual location of the boat.  Nice but inexperienced crew.  Didn’t reach our limit.  Limited fishing spots.  Spent at least half of the trip over two spots with little yield.  Finally, the cost quoted by Booking was different than the cost quoted by the Captain.  Thankfully, the Captain accepted the Booking rate.
