- Background
- I started out fishing with my Grandpa when I was 5 yrs old. I guess you can say I got "hooked". I was fortunate to grow up on a lake and loved to be on the water. My Dad used to say he never worried about me getting in trouble, he knew if he drove around the neighborhood he'd spot me on the lake somewhere. The only trouble I got into was being late to the dinner table. My love for trout fishing began in high school when I started fishing the MO trout opener at Montauk state park with my high school buddies. I moved to Springfield, MO in the early 90's to go to Southwest Missouri State and began working at Bass Pro Shops in the White River Fly Shop. It was at this point that I really developed as a fly fisherman. I fell in love with the Ozark waterways and all that they had to offer. I have been fly fishing the Ozarks and White River Basin for over 30 years now and love sharing my tips, tricks, and tactics with my clients!
- Techniques
- I love the variety fly fishing has to offer from the varied species to the multiple techniques to catch them. I also love the serenity and connection to nature that is unappareled with other types of fishing. I am skilled at teaching all fly fishing techniques including; dry fly, nymphing, streamer fishing, from shallow rifles to deep pools.
