- Born in Houston, Captain Terry is a licensed Captain through the U.S. Coast Guard. He has been fishing these waters all his life. He brings with him over 55 years experience. Captain Terry grew up inshore fishing until age 30 after that time he spent the next 20 years fishing mainly offshore within 30 miles. At age 50, with the lowering of Snapper limits to 2 per trip he split his fishing time to inshore West Bay and nearshore fishing. Captain Terry mainly fishes West Bay Galveston and close offshore trips out of San Luis Pass and some jetty trips and has so for the past 12 years. Unlike many other guides who run trips only summer months or weekends Captain Terry runs trips YEAR ROUND 7 days a week.
- Techniques
- My preferred style and techniques of fishing are directly related to the customers on each trip. Some more avid fishermen are looking for bigger fish which are less frequent. Most families are looking for the whole experience of dolphins, pink spoonbills and fish. Most customers, not from around here, have catching a shark on there bucket list. I will only boat a shark 4ft or less for obvious safety reasons and that makes for a great pic! My rule on my half day trips is if your not happy with your trip we'll continue fishing for the next 2 hours on Captain Terry. I'm retired, I've caught plenty of fish for 2 lifetimes and now focus my time on my customers enjoyment.
