We caught so many fish, we had to ask for a break! Caught all the Bonitas we could eat in the first hour including 4 at once. Luckily we had taken the Casa Mexica cooking class the day before and made delicious ceviche with them. We asked for another type of fish and they put us on some chevale jacks which were expertly cleaned by Christopher which added to our snorkeling experience by baiting the water with the entrails. if you’re a serious snorkler, I recommend bringing your own gear although the charter will supply some as well. We also saw a lot of humpbacks. I’d definitely book with this charter again. We were able to buy lunch at the dock. Lilly’s restaurant will cook your catch for you but wasn’t open on the Tuesday.

Great day on the water. This crew did everything possible to get us fish in the boat.  their was no communication to us that the charter started at 7 am because the fish booker said 8 am. Once we did arrive, the captain and first mate were really awesome about the miscommunication. we fished they should us islands and rocks. it was very fun and beautiful. We then went to a private area to snorkle and swim with their floating pad. all in all, the crew, boat, and experience on the water were great. Once we went to pay, they were surprised about me using a card. Again, this is the biggest and most expensive boat in the marina to fish out of. Of course, i knew about the 4% and was going to give the crew a cash tip. We had to wait for the owner to come with the machine, which wasn’t a problem. Then, when he charged us, he ended up charging us 4% and then an additional $54 because he said the change rate was different. Agian the crew and captian were awesome but the owner obviously didnt care. so we left paying a extra $54 just because. I have been o. nuch smaller boats and never had a problem with a credit card in this same marina. I also know it’s not ideal but when you are the biggest most expensive foshing boat in the marina you have to know. Also the fact the owner over charged $54 and didnt care sucks.

The Grand Jefe is an excellent boat for a private cruise. The owner and the crew are fantastic and flexible to fulfill all your wishes. We’ve chartered this boat for the past 4 years and never had an issue. This recent trip we did onshore fishing, whale watching (followed several pods and enjoyed many whale tails!), cruised the Zihua Bay shoreline and the Ixtapa beach shoreline. And end the 4-hr excursion with a glorious sunset before heading back to the pier. The ages of our group were 55-75 (11 people in all). The crew took extra caution helping us board and disembark. The boat easily allowed seating for us all - up to 5 comfortably up on the fly bridge, and the rest sitting on a bench and padded deck for the rest. 6 of us had a great time fishing on the Grand Jefe 2 on 2/4/2025.  Communication regarding coordination instructions was good through FishingBooker app as long as we had wifi or cell service.  Captain and 2 crew were great and worked hard for us. Fishing was good and we were able to release most fish (sailfish). Very nice well maintained clean boat with nice layout and room to spread out. Christian made us possibly the best ceviche that we’ve ever had. They had a nice cooler full of ice to store drinks and food. They supplied some beer and water but we brought our own too. 
15 minute cab ride from Ixtapa ~ $10US.  Handmade sandwiched made at pier entrance that were good and reasonable ~3.50 US.  I wouldn’t hesitate to book with these guys again.

I give this crew ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! The boat was perfectly clean, the captain and crew were amazing & knowledgeable. They answered all of our questions. Beyond helpful in assisting me getting my 7.5 foot sailfish in the boat, measuring and taking pictures. They truly cared about getting this fish back in the water and making sure it was going to live. I was more than impressed with these guys! Highly recommend this boat, captain & crew!
