Captain Rene delivered one of the best charter experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we stepped on the boat, he was dialed in, professional, and clearly passionate about putting us on fish. We caught multiple species, including some solid red drum and black drum, and he never stopped working to keep the action steady.

He’s patient, knowledgeable, and makes the whole trip fun. The boat and gear were in great shape, and he handled everything so we could just relax and fish. Whether you’re new to saltwater or have been fishing your whole life, you’re in good hands with Bravo Zulu Fishing Charters.

Captain Rene greeted us and after a quick explanation of the plan, we were on our way. We hit the fish almost immediately. Smaller bait fish and a few good size sand trout and whiting. When we got our bait on the heavy duty rods we hit a black-tip shark, black drum and the then we tagged out on big reds. Captain Rene was very friendly, respectful, and attentive. He guided us when we needed help or if we asked for some direction. Never over bearing and never disrespectful. Captain Rene showed us a great time and delivered on a great fishing experience! Captain Rene with Bravo Zulu Fishing Charters gave us a top-notch experience from start to finish. From the moment we hit the water, it was clear he knows the area, the fish, and how to keep the trip fun, productive, and smooth.

He put us right on the fish—black drum, trout, and even a small shark that made my son’s entire weekend. Rene gave helpful pointers when needed but never hovered, making it easy to enjoy the moment. His laid-back yet dialed-in approach made the whole charter feel effortless.

The boat was clean and well-maintained, and the gear was solid. Rene handled everything so we could focus on reeling in fish and making memories.

So it was a very calm day in the water.  We did catch a few game fish to keep and a bunch of others to use for bait (for larger fish).  We hooked one that put up one heck of a strong fight and ultimately broke the line. 

A while later we boated a nice spinner shark.

I wish we would have had more to take home for our trip, but the fish just were not cooperating on that morning.  That being said, Cpt. Rene tried very hard to put us on fish.  Including towards the end of our trip (last stop) I offered a suggestion and he took it to heart and we tried doing something different, but still no joy…

Wasn’t Cpt. Rene’s fault… it’s just how fishing goes sometimes…. even the top of the line best an do everything right, and it’s not as good as it should have been.

Would it fish with Cpt. Rene and Zulu Bravo charters again…. You can put money on it.  Would I recommend Zulu Bravo to anyone? , A B S O L U T E L Y.

My family thoroughly enjoyed our time on the bay with Capt Rene. I had no previous fishing experience and my daughter had only seen cartoon fish before, while my husband is an enthusiastic angler. Capt Rene managed to tailor the trip and type of fishing so that our daughter and I learned a lot and my husband had an amazing time too. He was very mindful of safety on board and helped us identify and safely release the fish we caught. Bonus - all three of us managed to catch a game fish, even my 4 year old!
