Captain Chuck was amazing! He was so patient with our 12 year old and took us to all the spots to catch fish! We caught several even though the weather and waves were against us. We will definitely book with him again. He’s worth every penny.

Capt Chuck and Alex were great with my kids first saltwater fishing trip and worked hard to get us on the fish. I couldn’t ask for a better experience!!!

The day could not have gone better.  Capt Chuck Madden was in communication with us for a couple days beforehand watching the weather.  We got a good window a bit later than scheduled (thanks for the flexibility).  Once we got out of the bay, we were on fish…a few bites early on and we moved a couple times, and Chuck had matched his places with the kind of chop we were in.  We hit one of his favorites and we were hitting big fish immediately and it was sustained for some time.  Big fish are what Chuck targets…what we were after and it turned out to be the best day on the water EVER for a couple of 70+ year olds who have been fishing together for 60 years. Big mangrove snapper, some of the biggest red snappers I have ever seen, good sized gag grouper (the grouper and red snapper were not open so we returned them to the water immediately) and a few other species.  You absolutely cannot do better than booking Capt Chuck and his Above the Salt charter.

Capt. Chuck Above the Salt!!!! Capt was fantastic, the Above the Salt great boat!  We had such a fun trip with great weather, great fishing and beginning of a great friendship. No kidding felt like we had known him for years! Captain Chuck Madden is passionate about fishing, meeting people and givinh them top notch customer service and experience( not easy to find in any industry today) he was on top of every aspect of the trip, Super professional, lots of fun and was so nice and patient with my son (9) He also made sure my wife and I had a great fishing trip. We caught tons of fish had great conversation, he taught my son and I alot about being on the ocean and different fishing tricks and techniques. I could go on and on, but simply put This guy knows his stuff and we had a FANTASTIC time. Highly recommend to everyone I know when they travel to Florida Gulf! I cannot say enough positive things about our outing on Above the Salt charters. We have done several of these charters in other areas, but this was by far our best experience ever. Captain Chuck was prompt, professional and super personable with my three boys and me. We caught a ton of fish, his boat is perfectly outfitted and Chuck pays attention to every detail the entire time. My boys were worn out by the end of the trip from reeling. He was very careful cleaning all of our fish and we will be having those cooked tonight. I felt like I left the outing with a new friend and would 100% recommend you book with Captain Chuck.
