Background: Capt. Alfredo Rubio Quintana first fished at Loreto with his father on an 18' wooden boat with a 6 HP engine, using nets. That was 25 years ago when Capt. Alfredo was 12 years old. Their next Loreto fishing boat was a 20' fiberglass boat, a narrow boat with a 25 HP Johnson engine. When the captain was 17, they bought their first "speed boat." It was a 22' La Paz-style skiff with a 55 HP motor. In this boat, his father and he would lead as fishing guides for private boats visiting the Club de Vuelo. At 24, Captain Alfredo began working on his own fishing boat. His dad continues the same work, as does one brother. The three of them now have 4 Super Pangas. Nowadays, Captain Alfredo has a kind of enterprise with his sons with 4 Super Pangas ("Alicia 1", "Alicia 2", "Alicia 3", and "Aleisamar") and 1 boat ("Kaiser").

Rubios kept the collars from 10 large yellowtail. I asked 3 different times to keep the hamachi kama (collars) best part of fish for grilling. They agreed but when I picked up the meat it was all bloody and no collars. Then the story became drama , after waiting an extra day rubios reluctantly agreed to supply me with the fish parts I had wanted, was met with anger and told i should have to pay extra.

Two side of the stories.
When you told me to bleed out the fish I mentioned this is something must be mentioned to the captain without any inconvenience (you didn’t). We managed to catch lot of fish (one biggest size). When you ask for the collars my mistake was to not save for you (I accepted, because an awful lot to do we had) then next day when I have more fish I gave you collars (fresh) before that you and son mentioned your last collars were stolen and sold by my family which is a really unfair and disrespectful for my family and crew and more according to the service we gave you (we throw to the trash the collars and rest of the fish) I didn’t not cover nothing extra I only mentioned was an extra work (plus with all the pangas we have every single day).
You have had problems with couple of anglers in Loreto which means you are not good customers to be honest. This is not drama. It means about the true. Stay safe.
PD: later you sent us a message asking to forgive your bad words to us. Hopefully next time you arrive to Loreto find other anglers.
