We booked with another guide months in advance only for him to cancel on us 2 days before the trip was planned. I frantically searched for. Charter with a comparable price and review rating. I settled on Cap. Ryan Falls because of his price and review rating. I’m so glad I did!
My son and I had a blast out on the water with him. Captain Ryan got us on trout right away. We limited out in less than an hour and caught a couple of reds as well. He also got us an up close look at some dolphins (we’re talking right up to the boat!) as well as many sea turtles!
Cap. Ryan is very knowledgeable, and we had great conversations along the way.
He was great with my son in that he helped teach him how to cast properly, how to work the cork, and he was very kind and patient with him. We will be booking with him again next year, if not sooner.

Captain Ryan is a great guide! He took us to a few spots and always helped us with everything. He gave me and my son some pointers and he also knows a lot about SPI history. He wanted to make sure we caught our speckle trout daily maximum and extended our trip for a bit. He even helped my son “lasso” a fish we thought we had lost since it had snapped our line. That made my son’s day and he said it was the most memorable fishing trip ever. I highly recommend this trip!!

A few things to note: Captain Ryan does not provide live bait but he will go purchase it for you. We paid $25 for bait and also had to pay $10 for parking. But it was all worth it. Just want you to be aware as you prepare for the excursion.

Captain Falls provided us with a great, memorable experience as we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. Very helpful, extremely knowledgeable and put us on the fish. The only reason we did not take more keepers is the state of Texas changed the regs again, but we did keep a fair amount and landed plenty.

Good bait (fortunate live bait was available,) good working gear and a safe, comfortable boat.

No doubt will run with him again on our next trip (maybe combine a fishing trip with an air boat excursion!) Thank you, Captain. . . . God bless you and your service!

Great first time experience!  Captain Ryan was available on short notice and responded rapidly to any questions.  After the details were finalized we headed out and he found the fish!  First cast and we hooked into speckled trout. We were able to bag several keepers throughout the morning.  Captain Ryan worked the shallow bay all morning to find us fish. He was attentive and easy going with plenty of great stories.  His boat was great and the equipment and bait did the job!  We fished in the morning and ate our catch for lunch, couldn’t have asked for more!  I highly recommend Captain Ryan!

We’ve gone out with Captain Ryan more than once now and had a fabulous trip each time. He’s fun and engaging and we always catch some great fish!  Limited out on trout this trip and will definitely go out with him the next time we’re at SPI!  <:))))))))>
