Cancel this trip prior due to the bite not being that good due to weather conditions. You insisted on going saying it was fishing and not catching.  You did catch a couple big fish even though it was not Mahi however as stated the
Weather prevented from getting offshore.  You clearly knew Mate worked for tips only and you paid him $50 for a full day charter being up since
0400 and not being done until 1600.  I really don’t know what to say.  We did everything possible for the conditions thrown at us.

As a professional Captain I should have canceled this trip prior to it happening. Clients showed up smelling of pure alcohol and as the day continued drank another 2 cases of beer.  Their level of intoxication disturbed the 2 minor children onboard asking who was driving.  If client was taken aback of the cleanliness of he vessel he could have also cancelled, however he did not.  He was clearly too intoxicated to realize what he called dirty was simple weathering to the bolstering which is common in Florida boats.  If urine smell was onboard then why did client allow minor children onboard to stay half the day down in salon area?  This client was ignorant and rather obnoxious especially when he was told to get down from open fly bridge which he had been told since it was open only Captain and crew are allowed on.  This man is clearly upset because the bite just never happened even though we covered almost 50 miles.  Clients from day prior also wrote a review and was 5 stars.  Also he claimed there was no running water in bathroom, however must have been too intoxicated to see 2 bottles of waterless hand sanitizer as seen in photo. This man is every Captains worst nightmare.  Beware!

Michael, I am sorry you feel disappointed about your trip however you seem to have left out some extremely important FACTS. You and your family caught not 1 but 2 trophy fish with a Sailfish release plus a 50+ pound Wahoo. You also caught a King Mackerel.  We produced fish for your group when clearly it was heard on the radio that other boats caught NOTHING.  You were also advised that due to weather fronts, sea conditions and just prior to the full moon that fishing would be a little tough. It is called fishing and not catching and an experienced angler would know such. As for the so called disrespectful talk between myself and mate as you would like to call it most people would call it joking around and a good relationship between myself and my son and to break the monotony of a slow bite.  The mate never said first Wahoo in 2 years and maybe you misunderstood. He said we only had 2 last year but 7 the year before and he showed you photos proving otherwise.  As far as my smoking habit all you had to ask was for me not to smoke and I would have done such, however being a captain and the day not being super productive is kind of stressful and smoking is my way of dealing with it.  Plus your description of putting out the baits, set the hook and you wind it in is what a boat trolling does.  Some people you can never make happy no matter how hard you try as they are miserable in their own lives. Maybe a head boat catching 8” Snapper better suites you as you clearly have no idea of offshore and the 2 trophies you caught. PLUS, seems kind of weird that up until you our reviews have been 5 stars cause we do catch, our vessel is safe and clean and we make sure our clients have a good time.  Must be nice to want to be perfect.  Oh, by the way Michael… we’ve EARNED the Anglers Choice award 2 years in a row so it clearly shows your review is either a big lie or you may have a medical condition of some sort cause everyone in your party were joking around at the fish cleaning station and NOBODY expressed dissatisfaction

Don, I usually try to keep things on a professional manner as that is how our charter business is operated. However, I am straight out calling you a liar on your entire review which is not something I would normally do. Let’s start with your first lie. When you booked your charter there was nothing listed about Air Conditioning. I even called FishingBooker to confirm that you booked after I had removed the vessel from having AC.  Lie #2-  the toilet did work, however I did not feel that it was my job to explain how a simple flush peddle worked. Lie #3-  the bathroom was cleaned and sanitized the morning of your trip, therefore if it smelled it was what you were depositing in my holding tank. Lie #4- how do you know the bait well doesn’t work?  We never used it and I assure you it works as I just put in a brand new pump in it recently. But once again, we never used it. Lie #5- No generator-  the boat does have a generator, however since I am waiting on the HVAC tech to work on getting my AC units fixed then there is no need to run it Lie#6-  ALL diesels blow smoke after idling for a period of time, however once the turbos kicked in the smoke went away. It in NO way blew black smoke all day and your lack of knowledge on diesel combustion engines is far from being an expert or even someone who has a clue. Lie #7- you seem to forgot the Red Grouper your group lost at boat side as nobody listened. You also seem to forget that your group fed 5 pounds of Squid plus cut bait to the fish in less then 2 hours without attempting to set a hook. Your lack of bringing fish to the dock was not due to the Captain or mate not doing their job but to yourself and your group. Lie #8-  The mate and I joke around to break up the monotony of a slow day. Had he been that bad you and your group would not have tipped him $400.  What this all comes down to Don is that you wanted to catch Pelagics and even though I advised you over and over that they were very few and far between due to the water temps and weather you still wanted to chase them for most of the day and YOU cannot accept responsibility that the reason you ended up with a bad trip is due to YOU however you seem to be the type to not want to own up to your faults. Myself and the mate did everything possible to put fish in the box, however the lacking was on yourself and your party and not wanting to listen to what a professional advises which you were advised that we should have went bottom fishing.  As I started this off Don, you are a liar and you are not welcome aboard my vessel ever again.
