Background: I have been avidly fishing local waters around Vancouver and Vancouver Island since I was a little boy. I still feel like that little boy when I am out on the water chasing Salmon. I just love sharing, teaching, and guiding anglers of all experience levels. I feel lucky to get the opportunity to share the beauty of our local area as well as the bounty of our Salmon and Crab fishing with guests from all around the globe. I enjoy watching the big smiles of kids of all ages hook into and fight a wild Pacific Salmon. I am an airline pilot by profession but my passion is fishing and in particular Salmon fishing on the ocean. You are in great hands with me or one of my professional guides. Pursuit Sport Fishing has been in operation since 2012.
Techniques: We mainly troll with downriggers with artificial and frozen bait. We will also cast light tackle to schooling salmon seasonally as the runs permit.

The June 1 opening for coho salmon did not disappoint. We got easy limits of hatchery coho for our guests along with numerous big chinook salmon to ne released. June and Nuly are going to ne a great month for salmon fishing. Book now.

We are enjoying excellent salmon fishing for chinook and coho salmon now. Chinook salmon are catch and release until August 1 but retention of coho salmon is available. Crab fishing has been slow. Book now while as we are filling up fast.

Excellent Chinook fishing

Currently, the chinook fishing is exceptional. Although it is catch and release only we are having amazing catches of chinook salmon. Crab fishing has been decent. This is a great opportunity to create memories. Take some great photos and have a wonderful day perhaps doing something you’ve never done before.

Good chinook bite lately

We’ve been having some very good chinook fishing the last month here in local waters around Vancouver. Trolling a variety of artificial spoons and squid patterns have been producing on the Tide changes. Crab fishing has been average and prawn fishing has been good.

Captain Guy was awesome and knowledgeable, even thought the ocean was rough we stuck it out to land a couple 20 lb salmon crabs and more. Totally comin back. My son had an amazing experience and really recommend this trip to anyone.

I was seeking to take my son fishing sometime over weekend, and booked evening prior to day out. I clearly stated in messaging that we had little experience and seeking advice. Only advice received was “dress appropriately for weather” even after reiterating we are unfamiliar with conditions fishing on ocean. Hi Bill,
Yes the conditions were tough for fishing because of large tides but you chose the date yourself with less than 24 hours notice to us without ever contacting me.
That was the only date option you gave me because you booked the night before the charter.
Your statement about no advice given about how to dress yourself on a hot day is a fabrication. I provided proof below of our correspondence. That was the only question you asked me of which I responded.
Your statement about not going to a place to catch Coho is another fabrication. We were exactly where we needed to be to find coho. We do not cross the straight which is a one hour boat ride each way on a half day charter. Only on full day charters. That is very clearly stated in our charter information with FishBooker.
I’m not sure what else we could have done for you considering you booked a confirmed trip less than 24 hours before departure and the only question you wrote to me was how do we dress.

Guy was a very knowledgeable guide and provided an entertaining experience. Knowledge of local waters as well as fresh water with years of experience helped, along with a great boat and equipment, unfortunately we didn’t get any fish. Guy was in constant contact with a number of boats on the water, and very few fish were caught by anyone
