Had a last minute booking today for an afternoon trip. We quickly got fresh live pilchards and greenies for our bait. Went for a short ride to the bay, but slow activity and lack of bait in the bay. Released a hard fighting barracuda after 30 minutes of fishing. We decided to go fishing in the back channels. Saw a couple of rolling tarpons and lots of bird activity. First cast and BOOM, rod bending action right away!! After a 15 minute fight, we caught a 20 pound Monster snook. After a couple of quick pictures, we released him to catch him another day. 5 minutes after releasing the snook, BOOM, rod bending action again! There it was. The famous puertorrican Silver King. Fought him for about 20 minutes and pulled the hook right at boat side but enjoyed the fight! Had a very fun day and look forward for next trip to get the one that got away!

This week's weather has made our fishing trips very challenging. Lots of wind, unpredictable rain and slow fishing all around the bay. We managed to catch a couple of fish, but it was slow overall. Today, Sunday March 13th, the Snook bite was ON! We caught and released two monster Snook today. A 20+ pounder on the morning and a 15 pounder on Fly Rod. Our customer from Finland did an excellent job at the fly rod today with 15+ knot winds he managed to catch and release 2 snooks and a jack. Weather is getting better during the week and hopefully the bite keeps improving. This sunday's bite was a good indicator that fishing should be getting better next week! Great work today from Capt. Luis and Capt. Kevin and of course our customers who are the ones that do the hard job fighting the fish!

Today we had a very fun day fishing with our new friend Rudy. We managed to catch and release 2 hard fighting jacks during the first hour of fishing. After a 30 minute window with no bites, we hooked a monster tarpon that Rudy fought for almost an hour. Fish was estimated at 70 pounds and did several impressive jumps. The Famous Silver King. Fish was getting tired and the angler too! (who wouldn't after an epic one hour battle?!?). After an hour fight, the fish gave us a couple of shots of grabbing him for a quick picture but unfortunately spit the hook right at our faces at boatside. Rudy and I had a great time and have another "The fish that got away" story to remember. We will get him next time!

Have had a couple of slow days of fishing due to weather conditions and all of a sudden, Jack Crevalle decided that it was time! Had a total of 7 bites and released 5 jacks including 2 double headers. The bay was full of action. Look forward for lots of fishing action this week!

We had a great start to the 2016 year fishing in the San Juan Bay 1/2/16 Morning Trip: Released a 50+ pound tarpon and missed another one at the jump. Also released a beatiful 6-7 pound snook. 1/5/16 Morning Trip: Went Reef fishing due to the flat seas. Capt. Luis managed to guide the clients to catch a 20 pound barracuda that was released after a good picture. Also caught a mixed bag for dinner including Mutton snapper, yellowtail snapper and a couple of mackerels. Winds have finally let down, which makes our fishing options more varied and bite has picked up significantly. I am sure it will keep on. Happy 2016! Capt. Luis

Decent fishing last Friday. Had 3 tarpon hookups and caught a nice jack crevalle and a beautiful snook that we released to catch another day!
