I have been on my boats my entire life. I started working on a charter boat at the age of 15 and immediately knew that this was what I wanted to do. After acquiring my 100-ton Masters Captains License at the age of 19 I was determined to have a boat of my own someday. I always had a love for Groverbuilt boats so I set out to find one. Finally, at the age of 26, I was able to purchase Mahalo. I have spent 2 years restoring her and I am thrilled to finally be able to share my love of fishing and the water with others.
Techniques
Although I love fishing in the ocean, I really enjoy fishing for fluke with light tackle. Moriches Bay offers some of the very best "back bay light tackle" fluke fishing that Long Island has to offer. There are plenty of ledges and holes that hungry fluke like to lay in. With Mahalos shallow draft of less than 2', we are capable to get into places that many boats are unable to access.
