We were fushing a small east texas grass lake. Foucing on moving baits missile 3/8oz white swim jig with berkley grass pig white around submerged grass on points and docks popping the jig out of there grass. We also was using 3 types of topwaters berkley drift walker and berkley choppo in white color slow retrieve. 3rd is a terminator 2 1/2 popping frog blue gill color in the grass pause in the opens. Lake fork has been tuff. Water temp is at 75-78 fishing in 2ft - 7ft on stumps main lake. Pegged texas rig 1/4oz weight missile d stroyer jr green pumpkin raise your rod up enough letting it fall back down in roots. Water is warming up a bunch of fish have moved into their spawning areas. Im targeting bass from 2ft-7ft on stumps. The biggest part is fishing areas with hard bottoms. Had cold front move in and lake started to turn over. Fishing was a grind. Found fish staging on main lake points and secondary points in spawning pockets from 4ft-15ft. Mornings and late evenings moving baits have been best. 1/2oz Terminator spinner bait and Berkley fiterside 5 both in shad patterns. Throughout the middle of the day keep a carolina rig in your hand to grind it out. Im using zoom fluke and brush hog in green and brown colors on 1/2oz sinker. Fork bass has moved up in the 4ft-10ft of water feeding getting ready for the spawn. Im using my ActiveTarget to target the better size fish. With terminator 1/2oz spinnerbait. Size 6 chrome willow blade and size 3 brass colorado blade in green gizzard color. Then im using a fitterside 5 crank in midnight and honey shad color to cover water. Try to bump it on every stump you see then pause. Fish the flats off of major creek channels. All on lews rods & reels. Sufix 14lb mono for spinnnerbait, sufix 12lb fluorocarbon on crank bait.
