- Captain Oscar has lived in Quepos since he was 4 years old and was raised by his father Walter Ulate, a fisherman who would leave at dawn in search of means to support the family. At age 10, he went with his father to fish all night on the high seas to chase Barracuda, Snapper, and whatever came out, making his life surrounded by fishermen. His brothers are also experienced anglers who spend a month off the coast. Like many people who are surrounded by this sport, the captain always wants to get ahead and that is why, at the age of 29, he's the owner of Osmak Fishing. What does the name mean? Because they are a united family, each letter represents the initials of his children's and wife's names. Captain Oscar decided to be a captain because the lifestyle of always being by the sea suits him the best.
