I am an experienced fisherman and have been out on a bunch of deep sea trolling charters. I was looking for something different and more hands on. My buddy and I fish all over the US, from Florida keys to California and all the way to Hawaii. I wouldn’t say we are experts, but we have high standards. Captain Akihiro is very hardcore and technical, he would want to teach you and get things done properly like a pro. Trip is 100% jogging oriented, no trolling, or baits, just with metal jigs. Fishing with Captain Akihiro Morioka owner of Jigging Honolulu was a blast. He specializes in the technique of fast pitched jigging. It is a challenge to learn, but we got it down pat. We caught 5 fish: 3 giant trevally (GT), 1 uku known as the blue-green snapper and a kagami ulua (mirror thread fin trevally). I had an amazing experience on this jigging trip. The captain is very experienced and knew exactly where to find the fish. I was really lucky that day - I had a very high hook-up rate. Although I lost two fish due to the hook coming off and had five break off after hooking. I still ended up landing seven fish. Overall, it was an unforgettable and thrilling fishing trip. Highly recommend it.

We were able to do both slow and fast jigging ranging from 70 to 180 meters in depth. Captain provided ample time to practice and gave guidance on how to improve our technique. We were able to catch GT, Amberjack, Bonito and another species.  Excellent outing for everyone.
